Code of Conduct

As with any other school, it is important that we follow the Code of Conduct to ensure proper behaviour and respect from the teacher, the parent, and the student.

This code of conduct applies not only to the student but also to his family and people around him. Please remember that the remote learning platform is a classroom, and, as such, it has the same sanctity as a regular classroom.

The Code of Conduct is as follows:

Expected Behaviour

It is the expectation of Spanish with Mary that students will:

  1. Show respect and consideration for the teacher and always communicate in a polite manner.
  2. Be frequent, active and engaged participants in the learning program.
  3. Obey directions from the teacher.
  4. Complete all assignments in a timely and thorough manner.
  5. Respect all copyright laws, terms, and conditions.

Unacceptable Behaviour

The following actions are not permitted and may result in student termination.

It is the expectation of Spanish with Mary that students or parents will not:

  1. Engage in bullying, threatening or discriminative behaviour, including using words or engaging in acts that are obscene, abusive, offensive, or discriminatory towards the teacher.
  2. Be scantily clad or nude, or talk sexually.
  3. Take pictures or record video or audio of the class. This is strictly forbidden to ensure the privacy of staff and students.
  4. Invite other family members (other than a parent or guardian) or friends to participate in a class.
  5. Knowingly email, send or upload any file or program that contains a virus, malware or other malicious code or engage in spam messaging.
  6. Fraudulently use credit cards or any other payment method.
  7. Participate in identity fraud or falsely pose as a student.

Open Door Policy

At Spanish with Mary, we encourage honest, respectful communication. The student’s success is connected to the communication that we establish.  We are here to help our students, and we are flexible to meet each student’s needs when possible.

Good communication and co-operation between parents and the teacher is needed to provide the child with all of the resources and materials required in the class (e.g., materials for activities, printing of cards, etc.). Being organized will make each class more efficient.

If you have a question or a concern at any time, please email us and we will be happy to help.
